ชายต้องสงสัยก่อเหตุสาดน้ำกรดใส่หญิงสาวและเด็กหญิง ในย่านแคลปแฮม กรุงลอนดอน ถูกเปิดเผยว่า เคยเป็นผู้อพยพลี้ภัยและมีคดีล่วงละเมิดทางเพศมาก่อน
ขณะนี้ตำรวจกำลังเร่งติดตามตัว
ผู้ต้องสงสัยรายนี้มีชื่อว่า ‘อับดุล เอเซดี’ อายุ 35 ปี มาจากเมืองนิวคาสเซิล มีบาดแผลสาหัสที่ใบหน้าด้านขวา และถูกพบเห็นครั้งสุดท้ายเมื่อวันพุธที่ 31 มกราคมที่ผ่านมา ในซูเปอร์มาร์เก็ตเทสโก้ สาขาถนนคาเลโดเนียน ใกล้คิงส์ครอส เพียง 1 ชั่วโมงหลังก่อเหตุ
เหยื่อผู้เคราะห์ร้ายคือหญิงสาววัย 31 ปี และลูกสาววัย 3 และ 8 ขวบ ทั้งหมดได้รับบาดเจ็บสาหัส และยังรักษาตัวอยู่ในโรงพยาบาล
ตำรวจหลายสิบนายในชุดป้องกัน ‘วัตถุอันตราย’ บุกค้นบ้านพักของเอเซดีใน ย่าน เลย์ตันสโตน ทางตะวันออกของกรุงลอนดอน เมื่อคืนวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 1 ก.พ. แต่ไม่พบตัว
เอเซดีถูกตัดสินว่ามีความผิดในข้อหาล่วงละเมิดทางเพศในปี 2561 และได้รับโทษรอลงอาญาจากศาลนิวคาสเซิล เขาได้รับอนุญาตให้ลี้ภัยหลังจากความพยายามล้มเหลว 2 ครั้ง เขาเดินทางเข้ามาสหราชอาณาจักรด้วยรถบรรทุกในปี 2559 และอ้างว่าเปลี่ยนมานับถือศาสนาคริสต์ เพื่อให้ได้รับการลี้ภัย

ผู้กำกับกาเบรียล คาเมรอน กล่าวว่า “ภาพนี้ถ่ายจากร้านเทสโก้ ซึ่งเชื่อกันว่าเอเซดีซื้อขวดน้ำหนึ่งขวด” เขาออกจากร้านแล้วเลี้ยวขวา ภาพดังกล่าวแสดงให้เห็นว่าเอเซดีมีอาการบาดเจ็บสาหัสที่ใบหน้าด้านขวา
หากพบเห็นเอเซดี ให้โทร 999 ทันที และไม่ควรเข้าใกล้เขา

Clapham chemical attack suspect revealed to be refugee sex offender as manhunt stepped up

The manhunt for Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, who is suspected of committing a chemical attack in south London on Wednesday that injured 12 people, is still ongoing.

The suspect had ‘significant injuries’ to his face when he was spotted entering a Tesco on Caledonian Road, near King's Cross, after the attack.

The manhunt for a suspect wanted over a corrosive substance attack which left a girl and her mother with potentially life-changing injuries intensified on Friday as it was revealed that he was granted asylum despite being a convicted sex offender.

Abdul Ezedi, 35, from the Newcastle area, was described by police as having ‘significant injuries to the right side of his face’. He was still on the run having last been seen at a supermarket in north London on Wednesday evening.
The sighting came just over an hour after the attack on the 31-year-old woman, believed to be known to Ezedi, who was with her daughters, aged three and eight. All three remain in hospital.
Dozens of police dressed in protective ‘hazmat’ suits raided an address in Leytonstone, east London, on Thursday night. It is understood Ezedi had a connection to the area but was not found.
The suspect, who is reportedly from Afghanistan, was convicted of a sexual offence in 2018 and given a suspended sentence at Newcastle crown court. The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed he was sentenced on January 9 of that year after pleading guilty to one charge of sexual assault and one of exposure.
He was granted asylum after two failed attempts, having reportedly travelled to the UK on a lorry in 2016, it is believed.
Ezedi was allowed to stay in Britain after a priest confirmed that he had converted to Christianity and was ‘wholly committed’ to his new religion, the Daily Telegraph reported. An asylum seeker can claim asylum in the UK on the basis of religious persecution in their home country.
The Metropolitan Police have released an image of Ezedi’s last-known sighting, at a Tesco Express in Caledonian Road at 8.48pm on Wednesday - just over an hour after the attack.
Superintendent Gabriel Cameron said : “The image is taken from the Tesco store, where Ezedi is believed to have purchased a bottle of water. He left the shop and turned right. The image shows Ezedi with what appears to be significant injuries to the right side of his face. This makes him distinctive. If you see Ezedi, call 999 immediately. He should not be approached.”
There was a heightened police presence in the area yesterday, including unmarked cars and vans.
