สภากาชาดไทยอนุมัติเงินช่วยเหลือฉุกเฉินด้านมนุษยธรรมให้กับสภาเสี้ยววงเดือนแดงตุรกีและสภาเสี้ยววงเดือนแดงอาหรับซีเรีย จำนวน 60,000 ดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือประมาณ 2 ล้านบาท เพื่อสนับสนุนการช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยจากเหตุแผ่นดินไหวในสาธารณรัฐตุรกีและสาธารณรัฐอาหรับซีเรีย และจะเปิดรับบริจาคจากสาธารณชนเพื่อส่งเงินบริจาคเพิ่มเติมไปช่วยเหลือประชาชนที่ประสบภัย

ทั้งนี้ เมื่อวันที่ 8 กุมภาพันธ์ 2566 ผู้แทนสภากาชาดไทย โดยสำนักงานบรรเทาทุกข์และประชานามัยพิทักษ์และสำนักวิเทศสัมพันธ์ ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมทางไกลกับกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เพื่อหารือและเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับการส่งความช่วยเหลือไปยังตุรกีและซีเรีย

สภากาชาดไทยขอแสดงความเสียใจต่อความสูญเสียจากภัยพิบัติที่เกิดขึ้นในตุรกีและซีเรียและ ขอไว้อาลัยให้กับผู้เสียชีวิตและผู้สูญเสียจากเหตุการณ์นี้ สภากาชาดไทยหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่าสถานการณ์จะคลี่คลายในเร็ววัน

เหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหวตุรกี-ซีเรีย เกิดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 6 กุมภาพันธ์ 2566 เป็นแผ่นดินไหวขนาด 7.8 ศูนย์กลางอยู่ที่จังหวัด Kahramanmaraş ส่งผลให้ประชาชนทางตอนใต้และตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของสาธารณรัฐตุรกีและทางตอนเหนือของสาธารณรัฐอาหรับซีเรียได้รับผลกระทบอย่างรุนแรง ประชาชนหลายล้านคนเดือดร้อน สภาเสี้ยววงเดือนแดงตุรกีและสภาเสี้ยววงเดือนแดงอาหรับซีเรียได้ออกปฏิบัติการตอบโต้ภัยพิบัติในทันที โดยทางเว็บไซต์ของสหพันธ์สภากาชาดและสภาเสี้ยววงเดือนแดงระหว่างประเทศ (IFRC) รายงาน ณ วันที่ 6 กุมภาพันธ์ 2566 ว่า สภาเสี้ยววงเดือนแดงตุรกีได้กระจายทีมให้ความช่วยเหลือไปยังพื้นที่กว่าสิบจังหวัดทางตอนใต้และตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ที่ได้รับผลกระทบ พร้อมนำอาหารและอุปกรณ์ปฐมพยาบาลพื้นฐาน อาทิ ที่พักอาศัยชั่วคราวและผ้าห่ม เพื่อช่วยเหลือผู้ได้รับบาดเจ็บและใช้ในการอพยพ นอกจากนี้ สภาเสี้ยววงเดือนแดงตุรกียังให้การสนับสนุนช่วยเหลือทางจิตใจ พร้อมกับส่งโลหิตและพลาสมาสำรองให้กับพื้นที่ที่ได้รับผลกระทบอีกด้วย ในส่วนของสภาเสี้ยววงเดือนแดงอาหรับซีเรีย ได้ช่วยสนับสนุนปฏิบัติการค้นหาและช่วยเหลือ ส่งอุปกรณ์ปฐมพยาบาล และขนย้ายผู้ที่ได้รับบาดเจ็บไปส่งที่โรงพยาบาล

Humanitarian Support from Thai Red Cross Society to Earthquake Relief Operation in Türkiye and Syria

Thai Red Cross Society pledges to donate USD 60,000 (approximately THB 2 million) to the Turkish Red Crescent and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (30,000 USD each) to support their relief operations in the Republic of Turkey and the Syrian Arab Republic. Thai Red Cross Society will also launch a public donation campaign to help support humanitarian operations in both countries.

On 8 February 2023, Thai Red Cross Society represented by Relief and Community Health Bureau and International Relations Department, joined online meeting with Ministry of Foreign Affairs on preparation for assistance to the affected people in Türkiye and Syria.

On 6 February 2023, a powerful and deadly earthquake of 7.8 magnitude struck Türkiye and its neighboring country, Syria. This earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş, it affected a lot of people in the south and southeast provinces of Türkiye and the northern provinces of Syria.

IFRC’s website reported on 6 February 2023, the Turkish Red Crescent has deployed its teams along with stocks of food and basic aid items such as tents and blankets to support injured people and evacuation, to affected provinces in the south and southeast of Türkiye. They are also providing psychological support and sending their national stock of blood and plasma to the affected provinces.
To alleviate the situation in Syria, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent is also supporting search and rescue operations, providing first aid, managing emergency medical evacuations, and transporting injured people to health facilities.
